This book serves as an introduction to the six systems of Hindu philosophy. Though these six systems are different in their approaches to the truth, they are unanimous as far as the final goal of humankind is concerned, which is, total eradication of suffering and attainment of state of eternal peace.
Desire, want, is the father of all misery. Desires are bound by the laws of success and failure. Desires must bring misery. The great secret of true success, of true happiness, is this: the person who asks for no return, the perfectly unselfish person, is the most successful.
